Product Overview
BTAB 700 / 900 /1200 / 4-2 / 4-3 / 4-4

Break Tank assembly with Fluid Category 5 protection by virtue of the integral Type AB air gap. The unit is supplied as a complete package on a base plate ready for installation.

The primary purpose is to provide backflow protection in accordance with the new Water Regulations. The BTAB unit also boosts the water pressure for elevated areas or where a high flow rate is required – e.g. wash-down.

The relatively large 24 litre pressure vessel allows about 5 litres of water to be supplied without switching the pump on. There is a choice of six pump sizes – 700 W, 900 W, 1200 W, 4-2, 4-3 & 4-4. The pump starts automatically when the pressure drops to that selected on the adjustable pressure switch.

The cistern has a screened overflow and weir, making it suitable for unorthodox drinking (wholesome) water applications, which require a “Hygienic type AB air gap” – e.g. dental spittoons & food preparation (G16.13 – was Byelaw 30).
The unit is compact by virtue of the small 18 litre cistern. Care should be taken not to empty the cistern by ensuring the output flow is not greater than the inlet – see datasheet table.

Fast filling is achieved by a servo-controlled solenoid valve with solid-state level probe control. This system has proved to be more reliable and accurate than conventional float valves.

The unit is quiet by virtue of a centrifugal pump, anti-vibration rubber feet and flexible stainless braided connection hoses.

For domestic boosting use "Pent-A-Boost" - model BTAF

For higher flow rates and variable speed pumps see variable speed "Boost-A-Break" - model BTAB 3-5 / 3-7 / 3-10 / 5-4 / 5-8 / 5-10 / 5-16 - Similar to fixed speed "Boost-A-Break" but with variable speed inverter pump and a very fast filling stainless steel cistern. BMS outputs. Pump duties up to a remarkable 2 Lt/s output.

For dual pumps see dual pump "Boost-A-Break" - model BTAB 3-7S / 3-10S / 5-4S / 5-8S / 3-7A / 3-10A -
Available as Duty Standby (one pump runs at a time) or Duty Assist (allows the second pump to switch on as required - doubling output). Both pumps are variable speed. The footprint is the same as the single pump yet the duty is up to 2.4 Lt/s output.
