Arrow Valves Limited are delighted to support the Peterborough Area Down’s Syndrome Group, by donating one of our BTMIDI-3A units. The unit has been donated as part of the mechanical equipment for The Birch Tree Café project.
The charity is currently in the process of renovating a disused school to create a café where young adults with Down’s Syndrome can have work experience, training, but also the opportunity to socialise.
Statistics show that 94% of people who have learning disability fail to find paid work which can lead to social isolation; the café aims to be a social hub to bring isolated members of the community together.
The Donated BTMIDI-3A is a wall mounted break tank and pump assembly that provides Fluid Category 5 protection. The set is intended for light industrial use and is housed in a stainless-steel cabinet ready for wall mounting in a frost free environment. The primary purpose is to provide backflow protection in accordance with the Water Regulations.
Within the café, the unit will be used for outside washdown or for serving small kitchen appliances. Other applications for the unit include sinks with hoses, clothes / dish washing machines and showers in healthcare premises.
